Russia and Georgia are the leaders in tourist flow to Azerbaijan

2,68 million tourists visited Azerbaijan in January-October, which is almost 11% more than for the same period last year, the country's State Tourism Agency (GAT) told. The largest tourist flow was from Russia and Georgia. 
Over 10 months, 798 thousand Russians visited Azerbaijan: an increase is 6,1%, the share in the inbound tourist flow is almost 30%. 
593,5 thousand people came from Georgia: an increase is 21.3%, a share is 22%. 
The TOP-5 of the source markets to Azerbaijan includes the countries of the Middle East – 314,5 thousand, Turkey – 261,8 thousand and Iran – 219,3 thousand. 
In 2018, tourist flow to Azerbaijan increased by 6% compared to 2017 - up to 2,8 million people. Fuad Nagiyev, the head of the State Tourism Agency (GAT), said that Azerbaijan faces the task of increasing inbound tourist flow by 4,5 million by 2022.
