Analysis of popular destinations for November holidays
The second massive foreign destination for Russian tourists is rapidly returning to its positions. Egypt, for the first time over six years, took first place in sales of the November holidays’ tours overtaking its competitors - Turkey and the UAE. It accounts for about 30 - 40% of all sales. This assessment was presented by ATOR experts.
Also, Egypt was in the first place in all sales of major tour operators such as Anex Tour, Pegas Touristik, Intourist, Coral Travel, Tui and Tez Tour.
Turkey was in the second place, mainly due to sightseeing tours to Istanbul. The third place was taken by the UAE - mainly sales in the destination are concentrated on products of the middle and upper segment. Relatively "budgetary" tourists, as it was predicted by tour operators, returned to Egypt. Also, the Dominican Republic, Maldives, Cuba, Mexico, Hungary and Cyprus are in high demand.
At the same time, the "anti-coronavirus" measures have not scared off tourists from abroad: sales of holiday tours in November this year increased 1,5-2 times compared to the same period last year.
According to travel experts, this is due to the opening of Egypt and an increase in the number of opened destinations.
A twofold increase was reported by Intourist and Kmp Group. Tui Russia and Space Travel reported a 1,5-fold increase in international sales. In general, growth is recorded by all tour operators.
