Will tours to Greece rise in price this summer?
According to the tour operators, at the early sales stage, Greece showed steady growth: following the results of the leading players on the destination, it ranged from 10% to 100%.
The popularity of the Greek product on the Russian travel market is promoted both by the relative stability of Euro rate, the increase of the number of hotels on an all-inclusive food system in the assortment of tour operators, and the loyalty of the Greek consulates, who willingly provide multivisas to citizens of the Russian Federation.
The increase in demand was also affected by the fact that many hotels in Greece keep prices on the level of last season, or increased them by 3-5%, say the press service of ANEX Tour operator.
According to Mouzenidis Travel, at the early booking stage sales of tours to Greece increased by 25%. For Coral Travel, the volume of tours booked during the early booking campaign increased by 11% in annual terms. Intourist tour operator notes a 30% sales growth and Biblio-Globus - 10%. Greece is among the top three countries in early booking stage with Turkey and Spain.
Representatives of the tour operator ANEX Tour reported that last year, at the early sales stage 25% of the volume of Greek programs was sold, this year the figure is the same.
According to specialists, Greece is following the trend of seasonal shift, which is also noted on the Turkish destination. Long weekends in May, allowing tourists to plan a full holiday, as well as attractive prices at the start of the season led to active sales of tours to Greek resorts for the May holidays.
According to market participants, the largest part of hotels in Greece completed the “Early Booking” campaign on April 30. After the end of the promotion, experts do not expect a significant seasonal increase in the cost of living. Intourist representatives predict a further increase in sales in Greece, including last minutes tours, despite the fact that the destination is visa-based.
