Antalya remains the main destination of package tourism in Turkey. In 2019, the number of foreign tourists who came to the resort through tour operators increased by 13%.
Antalya continues to sum up the tourist results of the past year. Experts draw attention to the fact that the tourist destination in 2019 did not reach the target of 16 million tourists.
Taking into account all tourist arrivals, including cruise passengers, the province ended the year with a result of 15,64 million foreign visitors. Nearly 5,6 million people arrived from Russia.
According to Turizmdatabank studies, more than 88% of vacationers at the resorts of Antalya were organized tourists. In 2019, the number of “package” tourists reached 13,8 million people. In total, about 20 tour operators work in the organized market of Antalya.
Compared to 2018, the changes in the top five tour operators that sent the most tourists to Antalya are minimal. In 2019, Tui group retained its leadership in the market with a share of 14%. Nevertheless, the main contribution to the championship of Tui group was made not by Russian, but foreign tourists of this group.
Anex Group has increased its share to 11,2%, and retained the second line in the ranking. The lion's share of tourists sent by this tour operator is from Russia.
“Bronze” by the number of tourists belongs to Odeon group (every tenth vacationer in Antalya, 10,6% of the total entry flow). Such members of Odeon group as Coral Travel and Sunmar tour operators work in Russia.
FTI-MPI (Meeting Point) tour operator serving tourists from Western Europe is in fourth place with a share of 9,4%.
Thomas Cook closes TOP-5 with a 9% share. The Russian tour operator Intourist worked in this group in 2019.
Pegas (tour operator Pegas Touristik) is on the sixth position in the ranking in Antalya with a share of 7,3%, on the seventh line is Tez Tour (4,8%), and on the 8-th position is tour operator Biblio-Globus (3,5%).
