In the first half of 2021, the Russian tourist flow to Dubai was 15% more than in the same period last year. Summer arrivals are also breaking records. Dubai expects further growth in the number of tourists from the Russian Federation.
From January to June 2021, 209 704 Russian tourists visited Dubai. If at the end of 2020 Russia was the 4-th largest supplier of tourists to Dubai, then in the first half of this year Russians achieved the 2-nd place.
At the same time, in May 2021 Russia was in the first place in terms of the volume of foreign tourist traffic to Dubai. The number of visits from Russia this month amounted to 40,9 thousand. In June, 25,1 thousand arrivals of tourists from the Russian Federation were recorded (an increase is 91% compared to June last year).
At the end of 2019, 727,8 thousand Russians visited Dubai for tourism purposes (plus 7,4% by 2018). In 2020, the flow of tourists from Russia to Dubai due to the pandemic decreased by 59,4% and amounted to 296 thousand visits. Based on the current figures, ATOR (Association of Tour Operators of Russia) experts note, it is possible that in 2021 the flow of tourists to Dubai will be able to exceed 400 or even 450 thousand visits by Russians.
Additional evidence of Russians' interest in traveling to Dubai, according to experts, is the flight program from Russia to Dubai from September to October 2021.
Thus, the Emirates airline offers daily flights from Domodedovo, and the Aeroflot airline offers daily flights from Sheremetyevo.
Flydubai will operate 15 flights a week from 10 Russian cities.
Starting in October, Ural Airlines aircraft will fly to Dubai once a week from Moscow, twice a week from Yekaterinburg and once a week from Krasnoyarsk,
Direct flights on the Moscow-Dubai and Novosibirsk-Dubai routes will be operated by S7 Airlines once a week.
The Russian airline Pobeda will also start operating one flight a week from Moscow to Dubai, while Utair will offer a flight from Grozny to Dubai once a week.
