Tour operators sent more than 2 million tourists abroad in 2020

According to the Bank of Russia, in 2020, Russian tour operators sent 2,1 million organized tourists abroad.

As for the Central Bank's Department of Statistics, the cost of services provided to organized Russian tourists during their stay abroad in 2020 amounted to USD 1 795,5 million.

Most often, Russians went on trips from the following locations:
Moscow (84%);
St. Petersburg (4%);
Republic of Tatarstan (2,1%).

Organized Russian tourists have chosen 150 countries for travel. Among the leading states are:
Turkey (49,7% of the total number of Russian tourists);
Thailand (13,9%);
UAE (7,6%);
Vietnam (6,3%);
India (3,4%);
Dominican Republic (2,5%);
Cuba (2,3%);
Abkhazia (2%);
Tanzania (1,3%);
China (1,3%);
Italy (1,3%).

Most often, Russians traveled to other countries for the purpose of a beach holiday (77,2%). 17% of tourists - for medical purposes. In the third place in popularity are cultural and educational goals (3%).
