There will be no flights and tours to Madeira

Ural Airlines has canceled its flight program to Madeira. Earlier, about 200 tourists flied to this Portuguese island.

An announcement was posted on the carrier's website that flights U6 1897/1898 on the route Zhukovsky - Funchal - Zhukovsky were canceled on February 27. More precisely, the flight U6 1897 will be operated, but without passengers - only to pick up tourists from the island. Now, there are about 210 Russian tourists in Madeira.

European countries one after another continue to announce the closure of airspace for Russian aircraft and Russian carriers cancel flights to the closed destinations.

On February 26, Rostourism has published information for travelers with a recommendation to register in the Foreign Assistant application of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Air communication with the Portuguese island of Madeira was actually opened just a week ago - on February 20. Russians tourists were issued tourist visas to visit the island, while the rest of Portugal remained closed to Russian tourists.

Earlier in February, Madeira lifted covid restrictions for tourists. They could fly to the island without certificates and tests.
