Madeira Island opens for Russian tourists
The "Green corridor" opened the Portuguese resort island of Madeira for Russian tourists. Moreover, the resort is ready to accept tourists regardless of their vaccine status.
In this regard, Russian tour operators presented their own programs for tourists. "The visa department of Tui Russia in Moscow has resumed accepting documents for issuing tourist visas to Portugal to visit the island of Madeira," Tui press center reported. At the same time, the tour operator warned tourists that due to Portugal's "anti covid rules", the access of tourists is opened only for the resorts of Madeira.
Prices for tours announced by Tui start from 1 217 Euros for two persons for a week at a 3* hotel.
Experts called the opening of Madeira as an important signal of the expected opening of Europe for Russian tourists, which is predicted in the summer season of 2022.
Last summer, only Greece and Cyprus of the European beach countries allowed entry of Russian tourists. Also, Russians are allowed in such European countries as Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and Croatia.
