The volumes of booking Turkey’s resorts declined after reports of a possible suspension of charter flights
“The rates of bookings Turkey’s resorts fell by a third after reports of a possible suspension of charters flights to the country”, - said the press secretary of the Russian Union of Travel Industry Irina Tyurina. "There are no refusals from the tours. According to one of the major tour operators, they have no more than 60 calls per 100,000 of sold tours with the question "what happed?”. However, the rate of bookings of Turkey resorts has greatly lowered - at least by 30% ", - ascertained I.Tyurina. She recalled that Turkey early booking was very intensive by Russian tourists. The early booking program showed an increase in demand 4 - 5 times against the same period of the last year. "The early booking action is aimed to provide the hotels by working capital and to prepare for the season. You may cancel the tours, but without refunding money. No anything happened, no force majeure, no cancellation of the charter - so the very fact of refunding money in the current situation is not even discussed", - explained the press secretary. Earlier, I.Tyurina reported that the possible stop of charter programs to Turkey will lead to the fact that millions of tourists will be without already paid rest. The General Director of the tour operator NTK "Intourist" Victor Topolkaraev earlier said that the tour operator did not receive officially warnings from Rosaviatsiya about possible suspension of charter flights to Turkey. However, in case of suspension of the charter service, he will reformat the flight programs and send tourists by regular flights.
