The tourist flow from Russia to Greece grew by one third in 2016
“Almost 900,000 Russian tourists came to Greece in 2016, which is 30℅ more than a year ago”, - said Georgy Mavrommatis - the representative of the Greek National Tourist Association. "The overall growth of the tourist flow from Russia to Greece amounted 30% in comparison with 2015, we approached the volume of 900 thousand people", - G.Mavrommatis added at the conference "Spring-Summer'17", organized by Coral Travel and Sunmar tour operators. He noted, that these are good indicators and thanked the Russian tourist industry for cooperation. According to him, about 20℅ of tourists visited Greece for the first time. "And today we can say, that the indicators of early booking have exceeded the figures of the previous year", - said G.Mavrommatis. In 2016, Crete Island was the most popular among Russians, it was visited by 42℅ of tourists. About 20℅ Russians rested at Rhodes, more than 3℅ come to Kos.
