The residents of St. Petersburg have doubled increased demand for Schengen to Finland
The Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg issued about 300 thousand visas during this high tourist season. "From May to June 2017, we received about 300.000 visa applications. For the same period of the last year the number of accepted documents was less than 170.000", - said the source in the Consulate. The Consulate General of Finland also believes that the summer peak of visa requests has already been passed. August and September are traditionally low months, but the demand for visas will grow as we approach to the end of the calendar year. It was reported earlier that in the last year among the citizens of St. Petersburg the demand for Finnish Schengen fell, as in 2015. In the first half of 2016, the demand for visas to Finland has dropped by half. In August 2016, the flow of residents of St. Petersburg, receiving Finnish visas, decreased by almost 40%. From January to August 2016, the Consulate General issued 240 thousand visas.
