The number of foreign arrivals to Russia decreased by 3% during six months

“From January to June 10.9 million foreign citizens visited Russia, which is 3% less than in the first six months of the last year”, - according to the data published on the Rosstat website. On the leading positions by number of trips to Russia are Ukraine (3.9 million, 3% more than a year earlier) and Kazakhstan (1.53 million, a decline of 4.4%). On the third line is China, which is considered as the main tourist market for Russia. For half a year 552 thousand Chinese tourists visited Russia, which is 20.5% more than a year ago. After it is Finland, which showed a significant drop - 504 thousand, minus 28%. On the fifth line is Azerbaijan - 403 thousand, minus 8.6%. In the second TOP 5 are Poland (381 thousand), Armenia (284 thousand), Uzbekistan (262 thousand), Moldova (246 thousand) and Germany (238 thousand). Tourist flow from European countries, according to the Federal State Statistics Service, this year ceased to decline and began to grow again. Thus, 238 thousand people came from Germany, which is 5.3% more than in the last year. The tourist flow from France increased by 4.6% (90 thousand people). The number of British decreased by 5% and amounted 76 thousand people, but the number of tourists from the United States increased by 21.3% - up to 125 thousand. Significant growth was shown by the flow of tourists from South Korea - plus 42%, 97 thousand tourists. The number of travelers from Thailand increased by 75%, their number reached 21 thousand people.
