Since August 1, 2023, Russia has begun issuing unified electronic visas for foreign citizens. This is a simple and convenient tool that gives a foreign citizen the right to stay throughout Russia on a guest or business visit, as a tourist, to participate in scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic and sports events.
An electronic visa to Russia is single-entry and is valid for 60 days from the date of issue, while it allows you to stay in the country for no more than 16 days. The cost of a single electronic visa is about 52 US dollars for adults and 2 dollars for children (the cost may change taking into account fluctuations in exchange rates).
To obtain it, you do not need any invitations or confirmations from hotels, you do not need to visit consulates. You can apply for a visa and pay for it (by bank card of the international systems Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay) directly on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry of Russia , and the printed notification works as an official permit to enter the Russian Federation. The issuance period is no more than 4 days, regardless of weekends and holidays.
Currently, citizens of 64 countries can obtain an electronic visa:
Austria, Barbados, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bhutan, Vatican, Hungary, Vietnam, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Zimbabwe, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Cambodia, Kenya, Cyprus, China (including Taiwan), Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Myanmar, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, North Macedonia, Saint Lucia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Philippines, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Eswatini, Estonia, Japan.
