Spain has already been visited by more than 1.1 million Russian tourists

Russian tourist flow to Spain in 2018 continues to grow steadily. For the first 10 months, the number of Russian arrivals in Spain grew by almost 6%. According to tour operators, the positive trend on the destination will continue in the future. According to the National Institute of Statistics of Spain, in January-October, more than 1.1 million citizens of the Russian Federation visited the country. Only in October, 91 thousand of Russian tourists visited Spain (+ 12.64% against October 2017). According to Spanish experts, this year Russia is one of the most stable incoming markets in Spain and is among the TOP 10 countries with the largest tourist flow. In total, for 10 months of 2018, Spain hosted 73.9 million foreign tourists (+ 0.5% compared with the same period of 2017). The three largest source markets in Spain include the United Kingdom (16.7 million people, minus 2.2%), France (10.3 million, plus 1.3%) and Germany (10.3 million, minus 4,8%). According to the tour operators, the demand for tours to Spain was stable all the autumn period, and this trend continues in the winter season. As Svetlana Kaloshina, the head of the destination of PAC Group tour operator, told that in October and November 2018 there was an increase in sales against the same period of the last year. “Traditionally, during the winter period, sightseeing tours and city tours to Barcelona and Madrid are well booked. The average price is € 820 per person with air transportation and accommodation at a 3* hotel,” said Ms. Kaloshina. According to the expert, the Spanish direction will be able to maintain a positive trend on the Russian market. The experts of VEDI TOURGROUP say that by the end of 2018 sales of tours to Spain will grow by 15%.
