Sicily: tour operators are choosing the regular flights

In summer 2017, a significant part of air transportation to Sicily, which is included in the package tours, will be performed by regular flights. This follows from the flight plans of tour operators for the "high" season period. According to the commercial director of TEZ Tour Alexander Burtin, the decision of many tour operators to focus on regular air transportation is justified. First, it minimizes the risks of transportation, and secondly, the airlines often offer prices for such flights, which are quite competitive with the prices for charters. However, this season TEZ itself will use the charter chain with Yamal airline from Moscow to Catania (departures are weekly from June 4 till October 1). According to Sergey Tolchin, NTK Intourist Sales Director, the total volume of air transportation to Sicily is 15-20% higher against the last year. And the demand and supply, in his opinion, are now balanced. Let's notice, that unlike many European directions we don’t see any “burning of tours” on Sicily.
