Russian tourists have made more than 230 thousand trips to Paris in 2017

“Russian tourists made more than 230,000 trips to the French capital in 2017, which is 51% more than a year ago”, - reported the Head of the Russian representative office of the Agency of Tourism Development in France «Atout France» Inessa Korotkova. "In Paris in 2017 we recorded 230,1 thousand Russian arrivals, 51% more than a year earlier. The number of nights of tourists from Russia in hotels of the French capital also grew by 51% and exceeded 627 thousand. Now Russians are on the eighth position among foreign guests", - underlined. Cote d'Azur, according to I. Korotkova, is on the second place after the capital region, hosting about 220 thousand Russian tourists. This is 19% more than a year earlier. "The number of Russian trips to Alsace has also noticeably increased up to 38,000. The increase is almost 70% in comparison with 2016. In the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, where the main ski resorts of the country are located, Russians have become more by 12% and the number of their nights’ stays in hotels has reached 150.1 thousand", - added the representative of “Atout France”. According to her, the total number of tourists from Russia, who visited France in 2017, increased by 33%. "In 2018 the growth of the tourist flow continues. In April the number of air tickets’ bookings to Paris increased by 18% against the same month of the last year, despite fluctuations of the Ruble exchange rate", - stressed I. Korotkova.
