Russian Foreign Ministry: it’s too early to talk about the timing of opening borders for Russians
The Russian Foreign Ministry has published another message on opening of borders. As last time, the agency did not say about specific dates.
“Regarding the opening of borders for Russians in popular European tourist destinations, it’s too early to talk about specific dates. At the moment, it is obvious to everyone that the threat of the spread of coronavirus has not yet been overcome. To maintain the positive trends that have emerged recently, caution and vigilance are required. Therefore, the decision to resume regular passenger flights should be carefully worked out according to the current epidemiological situation both in our country and in the world as a whole,” the ministry said in a statement.
It also notes that today in the European Union there is only a discussion of the possibility of opening of internal borders between the EU member states, and there is not a single position in this direction.
In Southeast Asia (including Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and others) despite the existing plans to partially remove restrictions in economic and social spheres, all countries of the region still have a quarantine regime and prohibition on entry of most categories of foreigners.
The countries of Latin America which are most popular among Russian citizens, including Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Jamaica, have not yet announced the opening of their borders to foreigners.
Speaking about Turkey, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the republic’s authorities decided to open from June 11 sea, air and land border’s checkpoints for foreigners.
