Expert: tourism abroad will be allowed not earlier than in the end of August
Russian tourists will be able to go on vacation abroad not earlier than in the end of August. This was stated by the executive director of ATOR (Association of Tour Operators of Russia) Maya Lomidze.
According to the expert, first of all, by analogy with other countries, Russia will lift restrictions on movement within the country, after which the borders will be opened with neighboring countries.
As Maya Lomidze recalled, from July 15, Russia opens the borders for those who plan to go abroad to study, work, treat, or to help relatives - for serious family reasons.
“The next stage (while the expert says about August 1) will expand the list of those countries where it will be possible to fly. What countries these will be, we do not know yet. It depends on the epidemiological situation there and when Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer rights protection and human well-being) allows visiting them. At the same time, we are talking about any goals, except tourism,” said the executive director of ATOR, adding that, according to the Association’s forecasts, the borders will not be opened for tourists until the end of August - beginning of September.
“Today everything is very dangerous, and tomorrow it can be recognized that the danger has passed and that you can go to holiday and return without a two-week observation,” concluded Maya Lomidze.
