Russia has opened borders, not for everyone yet
The Russian government has softened the regime of restrictions on entry and exit from the country, introduced due to the spread of coronavirus. Since June 6, borders are opened for several categories of citizens. But, tourism is not in the list.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree according to which Russians are allowed to leave the country to care for sick relatives, work, study and treat. These activities should be confirmed by relevant documents. In turn, foreigners also received the right to enter Russia for treatment and care of relatives.
The document does not allow trips with tourism purpose. So, Russians traveling abroad for treatment must present documents of the host medical organization confirming the treatment, time of treatment or other relevant documents of the Russian Ministry of Health.
Moreover, in all these cases, we are talking only about a single trip outside the Russian Federation.
Observers note that the flow of citizens of these categories, which will cross the border with the indicated goals, will not be significant.
According to experts, tourists should not expect the opening of borders for mass tourism in June. At the moment, the government discusses the possibility of opening flights from 15 July to 15 countries.
