Pobeda airline plans to launch flights from Moscow and St. Petersburg to Kutaisi in autumn 2018

Pobeda airline (part of Aeroflot group), which currently performs daily flights between Rostov-on-Don and Tbilisi, plans to begin regular flights from Moscow and St. Petersburg to Kutaisi (the largest city in Western Georgia). "The regular flights will be carried out, presumably, since September", - said Ketevan Aleksidze, The General Director of the Georgian Airports Association. Currently, five Russian airlines - Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, Ural Airlines, Nordavia and Saratov Airlines perform regular flights between Russia and Georgia and from Georgian side – the national air carrier Georgian Airlines. Russia and Georgia have announced the resumption of regular flights between the two countries since September 15, 2014. Following the results of technical consultations between air authorities of the two countries, Georgian airlines were granted the right to carry out regular flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Rostov and Kavminvodi. And as for the Russian airlines – they can fly to Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi. According to the agreement, the frequency of flights between Tbilisi and Moscow is determined in winter navigation season in quantity of 18 flights per week from each side, and in summer navigation season - 21 flights.
