Demand for Scandinavian direction in the winter season has increased. Among the Northern countries Finland is the leader of demand. According to tour operators, this winter the demand for tours to the Nordic countries rose from 30% to 70% both for the New Year's dates and for whole winter season. As TUI Russia reported, this year all group travels to Finland for the New Year has already been sold. "We can say that the demand is good. For December 30 only a few places left", - the company said. According to experts, most of all Finland is in high demand among northern countries: it connects both the proximity of this direction (especially for residents of St. Petersburg and the North-West Federal District) and the orientation of organized tourists for family vacations. As you know, there is the residence of Finnish Santa Claus in Lapland with traditionally a lot of entertainment for children. According to Sergei Andreev, the Head of Scandinavia's direction of VEDI TURGRUPP operator - “in general, the demand for Scandinavian direction grew by 35-40%, at present time we have a lot of bookings for February-March”. Lidia Szymanovska, the leading specialist of Scandinavian direction of NTK Intourist tour operator said, that the operator has begun to work with these areas since the beginning of this year, thanks to which the demand for the product has "significantly increased": the number of tourists has increased by 70%. In demand are SPA-holidays in Finland, excursion tours, cottages and ferry cruises.
