For the period from January to June 2022, 81,5 thousand foreign tourists visited Russia, which was 25 times less than in the same period in pre-pandemic 2019.
In total, from January to June of this year, 5,9 million foreigners entered Russia. This is 1 million more than in the first half of 2021. In the first quarter of this year, 2,8 million foreigners arrived, and in the second – 3,079 million people.
The largest number of foreigners was from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Abkhazia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Turkey.
Of the total flow, 81,5 thousand visits were made for tourism purposes. Most travelers arrived in Russia in the first quarter of 2022. In the second quarter, only 23,8 thousand tourists visited the Russian Federation for the purpose of tourism. This is 63 times less than in the same period in 2019.
From April to June, most foreign tourists came from Turkey (almost 4 thousand). In the second place is Kazakhstan (2,3 thousand visits). Then the list includes Germany (1,8 thousand visits), Uzbekistan (1,6 thousand) and Iran (1,2 thousand).
The TOP-10 countries from which the largest number of tourists came for the first half of the year looks like this: Cuba (9,8 thousand), Turkey (9,6 thousand), Germany (8,5 thousand), Kazakhstan (4,7 thousand), India (3,5 thousand), Uzbekistan (3,2 thousand), USA (3,1 thousand), Serbia (2,9 thousand), Armenia (2,8 thousand), UAE (2,5 thousand).
