In 2022 Russia almost completely restored the pre-pandemic tourist flow to Abu Dhabi
The Russian tourist flow to Abu Dhabi in 2022 recovered by 93% from the pre-pandemic 2019. This was told by Svetlana Filatova, PR manager of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi in Russia.
“We are gradually but actively returning to the pre-pandemic indicators of the tourist flow. For 10 months of 2022, the number of tourists from Russia who visited Abu Dhabi increased by 203% compared to the same period last year. Also, the tourist flow from the Russian Federation is only 7% behind the pandemic 2019 year," she added.
According to the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi, in October Russia ranked fifth in terms of tourist flow to the Emirate, ahead are only India, Great Britain, the United States and Saudi Arabia. Compared to October 2021, the number of travelers from Russia increased by 284%.
As it was noted in the department, Russian tourists are leaders in terms of duration of their holidays in Abu Dhabi. On average, they spend 5-6 days in the Emirate, while citizens of other countries spend three days there.
