Flight programs to Italy: when demand meets expectations

This summer, most Russian tour operators do not arrange charter flights to Italy, limiting themselves by blocks of seats on regular flights. Charters, as regular, fly only to Rimini, Calabria, and Sicily. Flight programs start in June and are scheduled mainly till October. In the summer of 2019, tour operators fly to 9 Italian airports. The largest volume of transportation is for the beach of Rimini. In addition to Moscow, the list of regional points of departure includes St. Petersburg (Rimini and Catania) and Ekaterinburg (Rimini).

According to estimates of tour operators, the demand for Italy meets the expectations and remains at the level of the last year. This season, a number of companies have announced novelties on the destination. So, Pac Group has launched a dynamic packaging platform and presented an excursion novelty with accommodation in Rome. The novelties of Intourist in Italy are the tours along Sardinia. Tour operator Tui Russia increased volumes by two times in Rimini and in Lamezia – Terme (Calabria).

Tour operator Anex Tour for the first time added tours on charter flights to Rimini (Red Wings) and Catania (Nordstar). Tez Tour canceled the charter program to Sardinia and Sicily with one flight a week on weekends, and offered its customers guaranteed blocks of seats on S7 Airlines four and five flights a week, respectively. This decision allowed the company to increase the range of tours with various lengths. The novelty of Tez Tour this season is Calabria region on the boards of Yakutia Airline.
