Austria opens air gates to Russia in July
The Austrian authorities decided to uphold restrictions on flights to Russia until June 30. According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection of the Republic, this measure is aimed against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. At the moment, it is known that from June 15, Austria will open borders with 31 countries. However, this list doesn’t include not only the Russian Federation, but also neighboring Ukraine and Belarus.
Despite the extension of restrictions, the national Austrian carrier Austrian Airlines at the end of last week announced the start of a flight program to Russia. In particular, from July 1, the airline’s schedule includes flights from Moscow Domodedovo Airport to Vienna.
The flights are scheduled for Monday, Thursday and Saturday on the wings of Embraer 195. Ticket prices start from 141 Euros. Experts comment: the management of Austrian Airlines expects that permission will be obtained for air traffic next month. In the Aeroflot schedule, the flights between the capitals of Austria and Russia will be operated since August 1. However, the airline doesn’t guarantee its flights, since there is no final date for the restoration of international flights.
