Antalya expects to take half million Russian tourists to the end of 2016.
“Before the end of 2016 Antalya expects to be visited by about 500 thousand tourists from Russia”, - told Munir Karaloglu the Governor of Antalya province to Russian journalists. "This year was recessionary for the tourism industry not only for Antalya region but also for the whole Turkey, and it concerns not only the lack of Russians. In 2015 Antalya was visited by 13 million tourists from more than 30 countries, most were from Germany, second best were Russian. This year we will accommodate 8.5 million people maximum. As for the Russian tourists - if it will be no changes - we expect 500 thousand people before the end of 2016 ", -.M.Karaloglu said. He noted that the number of tourists from Europe also declined, and it is not due to the safety problem in Turkey – it concerns the general events in the world. "Many people are simply afraid to go anywhere. According to data, obtained recently from Germany, 5 million Germans have not gone anywhere this year", - said the Governor. M.Karaloglu supported the idea of introducing the possibility for the Russians to come to Turkey by internal passports and pay rubles in the country.
