Another airline starts flying to Nice from Moscow
Rossia Airline announced the launch of the flight program from Moscow to Nice. The carrier will compete with existing Aeroflot flights.
According to the airline, Rossia opened the flight SU 6139 along the Moscow-Nice route from May 28. The flights are operated from Sheremetyevo daily.
The increase in the number of carriers from Russia to France became possible due to softening the terms of the bilateral agreement in the field of air transportation. So, in the summer season, S7 Airlines will also fly to Nice from Moscow. The carrier operates 6 flights a week (except Wednesday). Also, the route is operated by the French airline Aigle Azure (5 days a week). Aeroflot flies to Nice from Moscow daily.
Earlier, Ural Airlines also announced the flights to Nice. But the carrier could not get access to the route because of the controversial status of Zhukovsky airport. The Russian aviation authorities could not agree with France. The French side considers Zhukovsky as the fourth Moscow airport, and not the regional one. Quotas from Moscow have already been exhausted.
With the expansion of the list of airlines operating flights to Nice, the average price on the route (as of June) dropped to 17.6 thousand Rubles (244 Euros), This is almost 6 thousand Rubles (83 Euros) less than in June 2018.
Now the situation with the prices of tickets to Nice has changed again. According to the company Biletix, last year round-trip flights from Moscow to Nice during the period of May 20-27 to June 20-30 cost an average of 21,737 Rubles (301 Euros). At the moment the same indicator amounts to 21,592 Rubles (299 Euros). Thus, we can say that prices remained at the level of the previous year.
Tour operators believe that the new flight of Rossia is not a replacement of the canceled Ural Airlines flights.
