Agreement between "Sheremetyevo" and "Aeroflot" infringes the rights of other airlines
The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Moscow region has identified a violation of competition law committed by the Sheremetyevo airport and the Aeroflot airline, the press department of FAS stated.
"On the results of an unscheduled inspection on May 7, 2015, the Moscow Regional Office of FAS Russia prosecuted in respect of Aeroflot - Russian Airlines and International airport "Sheremetyevo for violating antitrust laws," said the statement.
It notes that the parties have entered into an agreement that could limit competition, since it put other airlines at a disadvantage when using the infrastructure of the international airport.
According to the Regional Office of FAS, according to the agreement, Aeroflot, all other airlines which belong to Aeroflot group, as well as airlines partners of Aeroflot's alliance Sky Team, obtained the exclusive right to participate in the preparation of the plan of connecting waves (arrival / departure), to take decisions on the management of parking and access to the land, as well as to regulate the maintenance of aircraft, passengers, baggage handling, cargo and mail.
