Winter Tenerife surprised by the growth of tourist traffic from Russia

The first two months of 2019 showed an increase in tourist traffic from Russia to Tenerife. In January, the number of arrivals increased by 54.8% compared with the same month of 2018 and reached 5,757. In February 10638 Russian tourists went to Tenerife, which is 60% more than in February last year. 

According to the Tenerife Tourism Office, in February the number of nights booked by the Russians reached 14,492 - an increase amounted to 23%. 

In total, 455 thousand tourists visited the island in February. The total number of nights booked increased by 3.4% compared with last year, the average hotel occupancy was 68.4%. On average, the duration of the trip to the island is 7-8 days. 

The most popular places on the island are Teide National Park, the Los Gigantes cliffs and the Loro Zoological Park.
