Turkey gave forecasts on Russian tourist flow for the next year
In 2022, Turkey can receive up to 8 million Russian tourists, exceeding its pre - covid level and setting an absolute record in the entire history of tourism in this country.
This optimistic forecast was given by the Minister of Tourism and Culture of the country Mehmed Nuri Ersoy after the signing of a joint action plan in the field of tourism with the head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova. He assured the head of Rostourism that "all the problems faced by Russian tourists will be resolved very quickly," and also announced the statistics.
“This year, despite the fact that it was a very difficult year, there was a serious shift that exceeded all expectations regarding the flow of tourists from Russia. At the end of August, the flow exceeded 2,5 million people, but by the end of the year, it looks like we will receive more than 4 million guests from Russia in our country,” underlined the Minister.
Russia remains in first place among all source markets for Turkey, he also added.
Mr. Ersoy recalled that Turkey received more than 7 million Russian tourists before the start of the pandemic. And if the situation with the epidemic remains under control, the number of Russian tourists next year could exceed 8 million.
