Tourists from China, South Korea and Israel are the leaders of incoming flow in Russia
“China, South Korea and Israel became the leaders among foreign countries by the number of tourists in Russia for the first quarter of 2018”, - according to the data published by the Border Service of the Russian Federal Security Service.
For the first three months 125.9 thousand tourists came from China, which is 49% more than in the same period of the last year. The total number of citizens of PRC who visited the country amounted 292.3 thousand people.
On the second position is South Korea. From January to March 30, 4 thousand tourists came to Russia, which is 65% more than in the same period of the last year. The total number of guests from the republic is 39 thousand people.
On the third position is Israel. In the first quarter of 2018 Russia was visited by 20.6 thousand travelers from this country, which is 16% more than in the same period in 2017. Totally, 27,800 Israelis visit the country with various purposes.
Then follows Germany with the 25% growth of tourist flow to Russia and the indicator of 22.5 thousand tourists. In total, from January to March the country was visited by 67.9 thousand Germans with various purposes.
France closes the TOP 5. The tourist flow from this country in comparison with the first quarter of 2017 grew by 19.3% and amounted up to 15.2 thousand people. In total, 37.7 thousand French people visited Russia for three months, 7.5% more than in the same period of the last year.
Italy opens the second five countries for the first quarter of 2018 with 10.6 thousand tourists. The total number of guests is 31.6 thousand people. It is followed by Turkey (10.4 thousand - tourists, an increase of 22.3%), Thailand (9.9 thousand - tourists, an increase of 35%).
According to the data of Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), in the first quarter of 2018 Russia was visited by 6.3 million foreign citizens (including CIS countries), which is 38.4% more than in the same period of the last year.
