Tourist flow from Russia to South Korea increased by 13,4% in 2019
This was told at the Moscow office of the National Tourism Organization of Korea (NOTK). According to expert estimates of the organization, this year the total increase in the volume of tourists in South Korea amounted to about 25%. In 2020, tour operators predict a more intensive increase in flow.
As the NOTK reported, following the results of 2019, 342 987 tourist visits of Russian citizens were recorded in South Korea, which is 13,4% more than in 2018.
“Taking into account the volume of tourist flow from Siberia and Far East, most of the tourist flow are independent travelers who use convenient logistics to Korea from their regions and the advantages of visa-free entry,” the NOTK notes. Among Russians, traveling to South Korea from the European part of Russia, the share of clients of tour operators can be about 30%.
According to Ekaterina Lopukhina, marketing director of the Moscow office of NOTK, the increase in tourist flow to Korea from the European part of Russia in the tour operator segment in 2019 was about 25% compared to 2018 figures.
To date, the number of bookings for the period spring - summer 2020 already exceeds the number of applications for the same period in 2019.
The tour operator Paks, according to the marketing director of this company Lyubov Chuchmaeva, in 2019 recorded an increase in the volume of tours to South Korea by 17% against 2018. Similar data for Korea has also Pac Group tour operator: following the results of 2019, the tour operator noted an increase in sales of tours to South Korea at the level of 15% and expect an increase in the flow of organized tourists to this country from Russia in 2020.
