The first Korea Aero Summit is scheduled for March 2020
The first Korea Aero Summit (KAS) is scheduled for 4th - 5th March, 2020 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. KAS 2020, a two-day event, will serve as a platform where all the stakeholders in commercial aviation could connect, network and discuss the present and the future of the Korean air travel industry. The theme of this year’s event is: Re-Imagine the Commercial Aviation Industry in Korea. Driven by LCC growth, annual passenger traffic in Korea has more than doubled over the past 10 years, from 52.3 million in 2008 to 117.5 million in 2018. The number of local airlines operating scheduled services has increased from only three at the beginning of 2008 to eight currently (two FSCs and six LCCs). The network of air routes crisscrossing Korean airspace is the seventh largest in the world. According to IATA, a total of 93 airlines now closely connect Korea to 183 cities in 53 countries around the world.
The first Along with the growth of the aviation industry, there have been calls for the expansion of infrastructure, aircraft fleet acquisition and renewal, nurturing MRO industry for Korean carriers, better air travel experiences, and the fostering of aviation personnel.
