Tourist flow from Russia to Cuba year doubled for the first half of the year

“Over 52 thousand Russian tourists visited Cuba in January-June 2017, which is 2.2 times more than a year ago”, - reports Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) with reference to the data of the Cuban Ministry of Tourism in Russia. In total, Cuba for six months hosted 3 million foreign tourists, exceeded by 24% the level of the same period of 2016. Representatives of Cuban tourism connect the growth of the Russian tourist traffic with the stabilization of ruble exchange rate and with the growth of air transportation, first of all – charter flights. For example, Pegas Touristik carried out a program of the last winter for Cayo Coco resort, Anex Tour launched for the first time the charters to Varadero. There were new opportunities to flight to Cuba by foreign regular flights", - says ATOR. According to the participants of the tour market, interest in recreation at Cuban resorts for Russians will continue in the upcoming winter season. The companies confirm that at the moment, many Cuban hotels have early booking suggestions, discounts reach 30%. "In the Ministry of Tourism forecasted that, if the favorable economic situation continues in 2017, Cuba will be visited by 70 thousand Russians", - added in ATOR.
