Tour operators were allowed to fly to Egypt from 41 cities of the Russian Federation
On August 26, a meeting was held in the Federal Air Transport Agency on transportation to the resorts of Egypt. Airlines received the right to operate direct flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh from 41 cities in Russia. We are talking only about regular, not charter flights.
As per the quota of the Headquarters, one flight per week is allowed for each Egyptian resort from the regions. Accordingly, from the Russian side 41 weekly flights to Hurghada and 41 weekly flights to Sharm el-Sheikh can be carried out from the regions. In fact, the number of departure cities may be less (tour operators and airlines will evaluate the profitability of departure for each city).
The largest number of direct flights to the Red Sea resorts of Egypt is for Nordwind airline, whose strategic partner is the tour operator Pegas Touristik. Nordwind will fly from 18 regions to Sharm El Sheikh and from 21 Russian cities to Hurghada.
Rossiya Airlines will operate flights to Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada from 9 cities with a population of over one million. Ural Airlines will fly to Sharm el-Sheikh from one region and to Hurghada from two ones.
In particular, according to Yana Muromova, deputy general director of Anex Tour, permits have been issued for regular Azur air flights to Sharm el-Sheikh from Astrakhan, Barnaul, Vladivostok, Makhachkala, Tomsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Zhukovsky airport near Moscow. Also, Anex Tour is allowed to fly to Hurghada (on Azur Air wings) from Vladivostok, Makhachkala and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
