Tour operators note good demand for Mexico
“80% of the first October and 50% of New Year's charters to Cancun are loaded. At present time, the sales are at about last year's level, but I believe that we will have possibilities to increase the flight program this season”, told Tatyana Chizhova, the head of Mexico and China destinations of ANEX Tour. Pegasus tour operator also notes stable demand and positive dynamics of sales of tours to Mexico. According to Anna Podgornaya, the company's CEO, the first flights are almost 90% full, but it's too early to make conclusions about the demand for upcoming New Year - tourists become more active in mid-November. The tour operator has no plans to increase the flight program on the direction. Recall, last year ANEX Tour had to optimize the program to Cancun because of problems with the carrier. According to Tatyana Chizhova, this year this issue is resolved – the flights will be performed by new Boeing 777 charter flights of Azur Air airline (the strategic partner of the tour operator). Also in the spring 2018, due to a decrease in demand the Pegasus flight program was reduced,. Observers believe that in the new season there are no prerequisites for increasing the frequency of flights from Russia to Mexico: the purchasing power of Russian tourists has fallen and tours have risen in price for winter destinations. Meanwhile, travel agents say that in comparison with the Asian destinations, which became by 10-15% more expensive, Caribbean region this year looks more attractive. Tour operators could hold the increasing of prices to Mexico at the level of 5-7%.
