Tour operators have reduced charter programs from the south of Russia
Tour operators have significantly adjusted their flight programs from Rostov-on-Don. So, in the summer season there will be no flights to Rhodes, Corfu, Bulgaria. Frequency of flights to Crete and Halkidiki is reduced by 2 times. At the same time, new destinations have appeared which will attract the tourists.
Optimization of programs, according to observers, is caused by a low loading of flights. Among other things, it was caused by the inconvenient location of the new Platov Airport, which was built in 2018. “It has become much more convenient for residents of Pyatigorsk and Stavropol, the Crimea to get to Krasnodar now. So, the programs from Rostov are reduced, but not from Krasnodar,” explains Alexan Mkrtchyan, the CEO of Pink Elephant travel agency network.
However, according to experts, it is impossible to call the situation sharply negative. At least, because for the first time the program from the region to Cyprus has been launched. ANEX Tour together with TUI will load the airplane of Azur Air. Also, PAC GROUP tour operator will fly from Rostov and Krasnodar once a week to Rimini on the wings of Ural Airlines. “Last year, the tour operator launched flights to Bologna. However, the demand was precisely for Rimini, so this season the company made the optimal choice,” says Alexan Mkrtchyan.
According to observers, the tourists now are reorienting for Cyprus, Italy and, of course, Turkey.
