The tourists flow from Russia to Dubai has doubled over seven month due to abolition of visas
“The number of Russian tourists who visited Dubai for seven months of 2017, thanks to the abolition of visas, increased by 96% against the same period of the last year – up to 245 thousand people”, - said the representative of the Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing of Dubai. According to statistics for seven months of 2017, the total number of foreign tourists staying in Dubai for no less than one night amounted 9.2 million people, which is 9.5% more than in the same period of the last year. "The growth of the number of tourists from Russia is especially noticeable. Thanks to this, Russia has taken the line in the list TOP 10 of the leading countries. This list includes India, Oman, Great Britain, China, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran and Germany", - added the representative. As the agency notes, the growth of demand is connected with changes of visa regime. Since February 1, 2017 Russian citizens were given the opportunity to receive a free visa upon arrival to the country. Earlier the cost of a tourist visa to UAE for Russian citizens began from $ 65. On average 118 direct flights departure each week from 13 Russian cities: from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Samara, Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, Ufa, Novosibirsk, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Chelyabinsk and Voronezh.
