The tourists flow from China to Moscow and St. Petersburg has doubled during May holidays
“Twice more Chinese tourists have rested on May holidays in Moscow and St. Petersburg than a year ago”, - according information of tourist association "World Without Borders".
"During May 1 - 9, more than 15.5 thousand tourists from China, who arrived in Russia as part of organized tourist groups by program of a visa-free regime, rested in Moscow and St. Petersburg, which is twice more than in the same period of the last year”, - reported in the Association.
Most of Chinese tourists traditionally begin the travel in Russia from Moscow. Executive Director of the "World without Borders" Svetlana Pyatihatka explained this fact by more developed Moscow network of air routes, which connect the capital with many large cities of the People's Republic of China.
"The most popular airport for Chinese tourists is Sheremetyevo. In 2017 the airport adapted the own service for passengers in accordance with the requirements of the “China Friendly program". "In 2016 3027 flights from China arrived to this airport, the passenger flow exceeded 1.5 million people, which is 13% more than a year earlier. Now the airport serves 10 regular destinations: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, Xian, Urumqi, Tianjin, Sanya and Lanzhou. The further expansion of the route network is planned", - underlined in the Association.
According to the "World without Borders," in the first three months of 2017, 57,000 tourists from China visited the Russian Federation by a program of visa-free group tourist exchange, which is 65% more than in the last year.
