The number of flights to Mexico will increase
It is expected in Mexico, that by the end of the year 41 thousand Russian tourists will visit the country - 1.5 times more than in 2017 (27 thousand). It was reported by the Ambassador of the United Mexican States to the Russian Federation Norma Pensado. Such optimistic forecasts are connected with to the return of charters to Mexico. Last year, the direct flights to Cancún were made by Pegas Touristik, Biblio-Globus and ANEX Tour operators. This winter two of three tour operators have decided to increase the volume of transportation. “Last year we were unable to fulfill the planned program in full by Azur Air. But this season - all is well. We see high demand: initially we planned to fly twice a week, now we increase the frequency of flights up to three times,” explained the deputy general director of ANEX Tour, Jana Muromova. The program of the tour operator from Moscow to Cancun started on October 23 and will end on May 11, 2019. Pegas Touristik also notes the opportunities for volume growth on the Mexican rout. The tour operator retained the last year’s flight frequency (two flights a week), but the number of seats on board was increased by more than 50%. Biblio-Globus, on the contrary, refused to launch charter to Mexico - the company decided to play on the destinations which are in demand all year round, such as the Dominican Republic. Nevertheless, the cumulative planned volume of transportation exceeds the last year’s one, since previous winter the flight program of Biblio-Globus (two flights a week) ended on February 6, and Azur Air flights replaced it. Travel agents say that in comparison with the Asian destinations which have been increased in price by 10–15%, the Caribbean looks more attractive this year. Tour operators were able to keep the increase in the cost of proposals for Mexico at the level of 5-7%. Thus, an 11-day tour for two persons with a departure in the second half of January can actually be purchased at a price of 120 thousand Rubles ($ 1,812).
