The flow of tourists from Russia to Dominican Republic reached a record level in 2017

“The number of Russian tourists who visited Dominican Republic from January to August grew by 159% against the last year”, - informed Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) with reference to the data of tour operators. "From January to August, more than 150,000 Russian tourists visited Dominican Republic, which is 159% more than in the same period in 2016. The winter season 2017/2018, according to the expectations of market players, will show no less impressive results", - says the ATOR’s report. Tour operators explained the increase of demand for Dominican Republic by the prices for tours remained at last year's level, as well as the stability of Ruble exchange rate in 2017. In addition, a number of tour operators offer various promotions and discounts on Dominican direction. Tour operators also announced about expansion of the flight programs to Dominican Republic. For example, PEGAS Touristik in this winter season launches again two charter chains from Moscow - to Punta Cana and Puerto Plata. Flights will be performed every 10 days from Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport by Nordwind Airlines. The ANEX Tour announced about the launching of its own charter flight program from Moscow to Punta Cana resort and from St. Petersburg to Punta Cana (twice a week). The cost of the tour to Dominican Republic starts on average from 110 thousand Rubles ($ 1845) for two for five nights. At the same time, some tour operators have already opened sales for summer season of 2018. In particular, ANEX Tour offers a summer tour to Dominican Republic at a price of 68,400 Rubles ($ 1147) per person.
