The demand of Russians' for winter vacations in the UAE and Southeast Asia has significantly grown

As the travel operator Coral Travel reports, for the upcoming winter season, Russian tourists prefer to book tours to Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. Sales of these areas have increased by 1,5 times on average. “Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and India are the leaders of the coming winter. For these areas winter sales grew by 1,5 times within early booking program. In particular, booking tours to Thailand grew by 85%, to the UAE - by 143%, Vietnam - 87%, India - 158%," said Ilya Kovalev, the head of the sales department of the tour operator. He noted that the early booking of tours for the winter season this year began very early and the interest of tourists in this action is very high.

Kovalev also said that expensive tours for the New Year's dates to the Maldives and the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania are also in active demand. He recalled that tourists are offered tours to the Maldives on scheduled flights of Aeroflot Airlines. Furthermore, according to the representative of Coral Travel, in the winter season Cuba and the Dominican Republic are popular among Russians. The demand for these destinations increased 30 and 36 times (respectively) against last year. In August, Coral Travel for the first time launched its own charter program to Cuba and the Dominican Republic. The number of tours to Mexico has also increased, where Royal Flight will fly on October 18.

He also said that during the winter season, sales of ski tours are also actively growing. “Ski holidays can now be called as massive trend. We are noting sales growth in all of our ski areas - Italy, Bulgaria, Andorra, Turkey and Russia,” the expert emphasized. The head of the tour operator’s sales department added that the flight program 2019-2020 will be carried out from 33 cities of Russia in 17 routs. Departures to Thailand, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and India are planned from Moscow and the regions. In other countries, the tour operator offers tours with departure only from the capital.
