Russian tourists in Cuba have got an access to excursions to Havana and historic cities
The Cuban government continues to implement a previously announced plan to restart international tourism. Thus, the 7-day quarantine for independent travelers was canceled and the ban on movement between provinces was lifted.
Thus, Russian tourists accommodated at the hotels of Varadero, Cayo Coco and Cayo Guilherme can again visit Havana and other historical cities (for example, Cienfuegos and Trinidad) with excursions.
Along with this, tour operators have the opportunity to arrange combined tours in Cuba with excursion programs from Varadero.
However, so far there are no direct flights from Russia to the Cuban capital. Today Russian airlines have the right to fly only from Moscow and only in two directions: to Varadero and Cayo Coco.
As of the beginning of November, 125 thousand Russians have already visited Cuba. This is 30% more than in the entire 2020.
Aeroflot is ready to resume direct flights to Havana in early December 2021. According to preliminary information, the restart of the flight program on the route Moscow-Havana is scheduled for December 3. There are supposed to be 2 flights per week.
But, ticket sales are not yet opened, since Havana is not in the list of directions allowed by the Headquarters. According to experts, taking into account the successes of Cuba in the fight against covid, flights to Havana may be allowed until the end of this year.
Ticket prices to Havana in the winter season will be comparable to prices for a flight to Varadero: in November, a one-way ticket to this Cuban resort costs from 718 Euros for one person.
