Russian Tourism Agency wants to upgrade the tourist brand "Golden Ring of Russia"
Russian Tourism Agency in conjunction with federal departments and agencies, and tour operators expects to upgrade the tourist brand "Golden Ring of Russia", the deputy head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Sergey Korneev, told to journalists on Friday.
"We will begin a reboot of the" Golden Ring "as a brand. It should lead to the creation of a network of federal tourist routes, and the number of tourism products. This upgrade Russian Tourism Agency will discuss with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Transport, and federal agencies," Sergey Korneev said at a press conference on the International tourism forum "Visit Russia" in Yaroslavl.
According to him, the modernization of the brand implies creation of a single calendar of tourist events "Golden Ring". "The events that attract tourists to these cities, should not overlap, but rather complement and continue to each other. It is also necessary to create a single mechanism of promotion of the brand, both for Russian and foreign tourists," Sergey Korneev said.
Golden Ring of Russia is a tourist route by cities of ancient Russia. Eight major cities of the route are Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl, Rostov, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Vladimir and Suzdal. The term "Golden Ring" came up with a Soviet journalist Yuri Bychkov, who in 1967 published a series of essays on urban routes under the same heading. Later the name was given to the tourist route.
