Russian tourism agency suggests opening Vostochny spaceport for tourists

Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism (Rostourism) Oleg Safonov has suggested making the Vostochny cosmodrome a tourist facility. "A tourist facility may be created on the basis of the Vostochny spaceport, which will be accessible for foreign tourists as well," Safonov said at a round-table discussion at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. "The cosmodrome is a unique facility, such facilities can be counted on the fingers of one hand, they should be used in the tourism industry," the Rostourism head said.
