Russia entered the TOP-10 source markets of the Maldives

Russia ranked sixth in the number of tourists in the Maldives in 2019. The archipelago was visited by 83,36 thousand travelers from Russia – 17,5% more than in 2018, according to the statistics from the country's tourism ministry.

The first place in the incoming tourist flow to the Maldives took China (284 thousand arrivals), the second - India (166 thousand), Italy closes the top three (136,34 thousand).

The TOP-10 also included Germany (131,6 thousand), Great Britain (126,2 thousand), France, USA, Japan and Australia.

In total, the Maldives in 2019 was visited by 1,7 million tourists, which is 14,7% more than in 2018.

Tourists in 2019 spent 10,68 million nights on the islands, the average length of stay of travelers was 6,3 days.
