According to the National Center for Statistics and Information of Cuba, by December 2021 more than 131 thousand Russian tourists had visited the country. In the second place in terms of tourist flow are tourists from Canada.
“It should be noted that the opening of borders and an increase of tourist traffic is primarily due to the fact that Cuba vaccinated almost 100% of its population from the age of two years. Only thanks to this it became possible to invite tourists from all over the world. We are happy here, and an indication of this is that Cuba has recognized the five vaccines we have registered,” said Nana Mgeladze, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Havana.
Currently, Aeroflot, Azur Air and Nordwind airlines fly to Cuba from Russia. It is planned that in 2022 Russian airlines will be able to increase the number of flights.
From January 1, 2022, tourists arriving in Cuba must fill out in advance the D'Viajeros electronic questionnaire on the website of the Cuban Ministry of Transport, where they should indicate the vaccination certificate data, passport information and flight information.
