Rosturizm: the growth of incoming tourism to Russia will be at least 6% for the year 2016

“The growth of incoming tourist flow for the end of 2016 is expected to be at least 6%”, - told reporters on Tuesday the head of the Federal Tourism Agency Oleg Safonov. "Incoming tourism is on the rise in our country, last year we had plus 6%, this year we expect no less", - added O.Safonov at a press conference dedicated to the development of national tourism brand of Russia. He also reminded that in the past year Russia was included in the TOP 10 of the most visited countries of the world. Earlier, the head of the Federal Tourism Agency reported on the expected increase of domestic tourist traffic by 10-15% for the year 2016. According to him, last year the growth of Russians, traveling around the country, reached 18%, and their total number was 50 million. In 2015 Russia was visited by 31.6 million foreign visitors and for the first time entered in to the TOP 10 of most popular countries in the world according to the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The first places in the ranking are occupied France, which hosted nearly 85 million tourists, Spain and the United States.
