Qatar - June sales are higher than pre-pandemic

The Qatar Tourism Board (Qatar Tourism) reports a noticeable increase of demand for Qatar in Russia - and it is in the group segment, thanks to special flight prices for tour operators.

At the end of April, the national carrier of Qatar, Qatar Airways, almost halved the prices for flights from Russia for tour operators.

This led to a noticeable increase of demand for Qatar among clients of Russian tour operators. Buying a package tour from tour operators is not only more convenient, but also financially more profitable than arranging a trip on your own.

According to Qatar Tourism, sales of package tours to Qatar in Russia in June 2022 are 2,5-3 times higher than in the same “pre-pandemic” period in 2019. The excess of May sales of tours to Qatar over pre-pandemic ones is also confirmed by tour operators working in the destination.

Meanwhile, the companies warn that there are relatively few tickets at attractive prices, as the demand for the destination is high also because Doha is a popular transit point.

In general, Qatar is now not a budget resort, but not at all a “super expensive” destination. According to Intourist, now a tour to the Saraya Corniche 5* hotel with a flight from Moscow on Qatar Airways costs 2 890 Euros (departure is on June 20).
