Putin: up to a million Russian tourists can visit Greece in 2018
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a record number of Russians who visited Greece last year, and this year the number of tourists is expected to grow to one million. “Last year, a record number of 850,000 Russian tourists visited Greece. This is plus nine percent compared to the previous year”, Putin said at a press conference. "It is expected that this year this number will increase up to a million people," said the head of the state. According to him, on November 23 of this year, the Russian-Greek year of tourism ended, during which more than 50 events were carried out. As V. Putin noted, thanks to these events "an increasing number of Greek citizens come to Russia, get acquainted with its sights". "From this point of view, the projects in cruises along the Black, Baltic and northern seas and creating new resorts, which we are developing, will be profitable", the president said.
